Why Prototype?
It provides a cost-effective means to develop an idea more toward an actual, practical solution. Prototypes can give the look and feel of the solution without being scaled and platformed expensively.
I write prototypes using MS Access and these don’t require expense licenses, and the knowledge can easily be shared. VBA isn’t a hardcore language; it’s a simple line interpreter and the scripts are easy to follow.
Type of Prototypes I have developed
The types of prototypes that I write include:
(1) visual aids that show how an application could function from the perspective of a user
(2) non-complicated registries that store non-sensitive business data and can be managed and used by business users.
(3) work-arounds to help the business find short term resolutions for various problems.

Business benefits
Over the course of my career in IT, I have helped a variety of different business areas by using my skills to resolve issues in developing prototypes. Some of these workarounds have been compliance related. Others have been business-led productivity initiatives that rely on automation.
